About the Rangeland Management Undergraduate Certificate

This certificate includes coursework and field experiences in plant ecology, grazing ecology and management, inventory and monitoring of rangeland conditions, vegetation management practices, and rangeland planning. It will prepare you to sustain rangeland ecosystems in the face of increasing human populations, changing climate conditions, and conversion of rangelands to city and industrial uses.

Rangeland Management Courses

You’ll complete the following five courses, which use classroom and field trip formats supplemented with online materials: 

  • Grazing Ecology and Management
  • Rangeland Inventory and Monitoring
  • Rangeland Plant Communities
  • Management and Restoration of Wild Vegetation
  • Rangeland Management Planning

One of the five courses listed above may be replaced with a suitable substitute at the discretion of your academic adviser. Courses required to complete an undergraduate certificate in rangeland management at the University of Arizona are subject to change and other university policies, so remember to meet with your adviser regularly to review your course plan.
