Dr. Russ Monson presents on newly released 2013 IPCC physical sciences report

Sept. 27, 2013
Russell Monson, Louise Foucar Marshall Professor in SNRE was one of five University of Arizona scientists selected to speak on a panel of experts who discussed the just-released Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report "Climate Change 2013: The Physical Science Basis" (http://www.climatechange2013.org/) earlier today. He did an outstanding job helping an audience of 200+ people understand the trends in biogeochemistry across the globe, which in turn influence the carbon and water cycles in our ecosystems. For more information on the presentations, read the UA news feature (http://uanews.org/story/in-the-bull-s-eye-of-climate-change).

SNRE is involved in this work in other ways as well. For example, Gregg Garfin, SNRE Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist in Climate, Natural Resources and Policy was the lead coordinating author of the recently released "Assessment of Climate Change in the Southwest United States: A Report Prepared for the National Climate Assessment". http://www.cakex.org/virtual-library/assessment-climate-change-southwest-united-states
