Special Research Units

Arizona and the Southwest provide a unique setting for researchers to explore the desert and our natural and cultural resources. We provide opportunities through: The Desert Southwest Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit, a network of federal, university and nongovernmental agencies studying and managing resources across Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas; and the U.S. Geological Survey Arizona Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit, which facilitates research between natural resource agencies and universities.
