Dave Breshears recognized as Highly Cited Researcher

The list is in! Web of Science?s ?High Cited Researcher? list has been released. This year, five researchers from UArizona were named, including SNRE?s Dr. Dave Breshears? Congratulations, Dr. Breshears!!
 
The highly anticipated annual list identifies researchers who demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field or fields through the publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade. Their names are drawn from the publications that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and publication year in the Web of Science? citation index. The methodology that determines the ?who?s who? of influential researchers draws on the data and analysis performed by bibliometric experts and data scientists at the Institute for Scientific Information? at Clarivate. 
 
Dr. Breshears researches ecohydrology relationships in dryland ecosystems, including grassland-forest gradients, erosion, and tree mortality. His work is primarily directed toward addressing the consequences of land use and climate change. He also teaches a number of upper undergraduate and graduate courses, including Dryland Ecohydrology & Vegetation Dynamics, Leadership & Communication Skills for Environmental Scientists, and National Climate Assessment. In addition to receiving recognition as a Highly Cited Researcher for 5 years, Dr. Breshears has achieved a number of other prestigious recognitions, including Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Ecological Society of America, the American Geophysical Union, the Aldo Leopold Leadership Program and the Kavli US Frontiers in Science.
