The School of Natural Resources and the Environment (SNRE) at the University of Arizona invites applications for three tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the following disciplines; (1) Arid Lands Ecosystems, (2) Conservation and Management of Large Mammals, and (3) Wildlife Conservation and Disease Ecology. Each position is a 9-month academic position with Research (60%), Teaching (30%), and Service duties (10%).

SNRE has strong research, teaching, and outreach programs in wildlife and fisheries ecology; conservation biology; ecohydrology and watershed management; rangeland ecology, restoration, and management; global change ecology and management; and arid lands. SNRE is host to multiple cooperators from federal (e.g. USGS Arizona Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit, National Park Service Desert Southwest Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit) and state (e.g. Game and Fish Dept.) agencies. SNRE also collaborates with various non-governmental conservation organizations (e.g. Reid Park Zoo, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum). Finally, our Cooperative Extension personnel have strong connections to Native Nations, municipal governments, and private landowners throughout Arizona.
Successful candidates will contribute to the instructional mission of SNRE and build a research program to enhance and complement existing strengths in SNRE and the University of Arizona’s initiatives. The ideal candidates will demonstrate excellent communication skills and application of effective and inclusive teaching strategies at the undergraduate and graduate levels, the ability to mentor students and postdoctoral associates in research.
