SNRE offered first graduate student retreat for new incoming students

Just before the start of the Fall 2023 semester, SNRE offered the unit's first graduate student retreat for all new incoming students. From August 18th to August 19th, participating students stayed overnight at the at the Santa Rita Experimental Range (SRER) Florida Station The Florida Station is located in the Florida Canyon of the Santa Rita Mountains and serves as a base location for educational activities and for researchers working on the range. At the event, students exchanged ideas for graduate student engagement, prompting Natural Resources Graduate Student Organization (NRGSO) to create a new SNRE graduate student slack channel.
On Saturday, August 19th, new graduate students had a chance to interact with SNRE faculty, staff and their families at a barbeque event.
Bethina Krogsgaard, SNRE Manager of Finance and Administration, described the BBQ event as "so SNRE - relaxed, people chatting."
